About Us

Lakeside Petals is a small scale flower farm family owned and operated...My name is Caroline and I am the visionary of Lakeside Petals and matriarch of the family.

After many years working in the human service field I retired in January 2025.  For the past several years I envision restoring and beautifying 21 acres of land alongside Lenore Lake. Having been raised in a small rural community and my parents farming the land, I had the privilege of experiencing the beauty of our Saskatchewan prairies and the calm it brings one soul. My father valued his time in the fields taking time to appreciate the landscape and animals surrounding him. As the matriarch of our family, my mother loved adorning her large yard with flowers in addition to making beautiful flower arrangements to gift to others and the church. Lakeside Petals is giving me the same opportunity to share this experience with my adult children and grandchildren.  A place where one can escape the hustle and bustle of the busy city and return to the tranquility of nature and the sounds and sights of God’s creatures. By sharing flowers with you allows me to bring a piece of nature into your home to enjoy. I am so excited to share with you my journey of Lakeside Petals.

The vision of Lakeside Petals came into fruition in 2025. Seeding began in March nursing the seedlings in my home, then in a small greenhouse before transplanting outside. Planting began, May long weekend in Saskatoon before making my way to the farm where I cleared a plot containing four rows; 4’ by 110’ consisting of 1.760 feet of land. It may not sound like much but it is when you begin to seed by hand.  In recent years we have seen local flower farmers begin successful businesses in North America to supply local flowers for direct sales and or wholesale.  Each farm is unique in its growing style, bouquet arrangements, and specialized crops. Local farmers are working hard to provide Canadians with ethically grown flowers and arrangements.  Despite our short growing season in Zone 3 in Saskatchewan we are able to successfully grow sought after flowers sown directly in the field. Since this is our first year of operation much time and energy has been spent preparing the soil and infrastructure needed. As we near completion of transplanting and seeding we prepare for the  harvesting and selling of our beautiful flowers. This summer we will be doing direct sales.  You can anticipate bouquets filled with an array of flowers from the large selection planted.  Each bouquet reflecting mother nature's blooms.

Enjoy!
